Whether you've inherited a single special piece or a lifetime collection of antique rugs, we provide free, expert valuations and fair purchase offers — handled sensitively and professionally throughout.
Dealing with an estate — whether you're an executor, a family member, or a professional house-clearance firm — is never simple. The last thing you need is an unclear process, lowball offers, or experts who don't communicate clearly.
We've worked with hundreds of families and estate professionals across the UK and USA. Our process is built to be as simple and transparent as possible. No jargon. No pressure. Just honest expertise when you need it.
No need to move heavy or fragile pieces. Photograph each rug where it lies — on the floor, rolled in a corner, folded in storage — and we'll assess from the images. Three shots per piece is all we need.
Submit one piece or fifty. We provide valuations for individual items or a combined collection offer, depending on what's most useful to you and the estate situation.
For larger or particularly significant collections, we can arrange an in-person specialist visit at no cost. This is especially useful when rugs are numerous, difficult to photograph, or potentially very valuable.
If you need written valuations for probate or legal purposes, ask us. We can provide detailed written appraisals where required, clearly stating current market values for each piece.
Once an offer is accepted, we arrange payment directly and promptly — bank transfer or as otherwise agreed. No waiting for auction settlements, no delayed cheques.
We understand these are often emotional circumstances. We handle every conversation and transaction with the sensitivity and professionalism the situation demands.
Walk through the property and note each rug — rough dimensions (pacing the floor works fine), general condition (good, worn, damaged), and any details you know (where it was purchased, its age, any labels or tags).
Don't worry about identifying origins yourself — that's our job.
For each rug: one full-face photo, one photo of the back, and one detail shot. If a rug is rolled or folded, photograph it as-is and note why — we'll work with what's practical.
Group shots can supplement but shouldn't replace individual photos.
Upload via our quote form. You can submit multiple pieces in one session. Include a note that this is an estate submission and roughly how many pieces there are in total.
We'll respond within 48 business hours with valuations. For collections, we'll often provide both individual piece values and a combined collection offer — you choose whichever works best.
Once you accept, we agree on a collection date or, where appropriate, you can ship pieces to us (we'll provide guidance). Payment follows promptly on receipt.
Many families are unaware of what they have. Here are the rug types we most commonly encounter in estate settings, and what they're worth.
Commonly found in dining rooms and sitting rooms of older homes. Often Tabriz, Heriz, or Kashan from the early-to-mid 20th century. In good condition: £500–£8,000+ depending on age and origin.
Small pieces (usually 3×5ft) with a mihrab (arch) design, often collected during foreign travel. Good 19th-century examples: £200–£2,000+. More common later pieces: £50–£300.
Flat-woven pieces, no pile, geometric patterns. These have seen strong demand from interior designers. Authentic antique kilims from Anatolia or the Caucasus: £150–£2,500+.
Pale grounds with stylised floral or landscape designs. A particularly desirable period. Good examples: £400–£5,000+ for room-size pieces.
Bold, geometric patterns from Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the South Caucasus. Often very old and in surprisingly good condition. Strong collector demand: £300–£10,000+.
Silk pile rugs from Qom (Iran), Hereke (Turkey), or Kayseri are among the most valuable per square foot. Even small prayer rugs can be worth £1,000–£20,000+.
Worn, dusty, or rolled rugs stored in lofts, cellars, or spare rooms are frequently the most valuable pieces in an estate. Never assume condition equals value for antique rugs. Let us assess before anything is discarded or given away.
We work regularly with solicitors, estate agents, property managers, house-clearance firms, and probate professionals across the UK. If you encounter rugs in an estate you're managing, we offer:
